Happiness is...

For me, it's good deals at a garage sale.

This past weekend me, Rusty and Bridger went garage saleing. Now, you can call it cheap, stingy, frugal, or whatever you may, but I LOVE going to garage sales!! And this weekend made me so happy!! I found a piece of furniture that will be passed down through all my kids, an old school desk!! When we pulled up to the house I immediately saw the desk. While we were still sitting in the car I said, "Oh Rusty, look at that desk, isn't it so cute?" I got out and took a look at it, then quickly passed through the rest of the stuff only to head right back to the desk. Maybe it's because I think old stuff is cool or maybe it's because I'm a teacher at heart, but it was love at first sight!! Rusty knew it and told me to go ahead and get it. We brought it home, cleaned it up, and put it in Bridger's room. It definitely needs a coat of paint (that's a project for another day and another time) but for now it will do!

For Bridger it's the Backyardigans.

The grocery store here in town is closing it's video rental area. They are trying to get rid of all their DVDs and have them marked down quite a bit. I've been holding out but yesterday at the store I couldn't help but buy Bridger 2 Backyardigans DVDs. He loves that cartoon and since we've downgraded our cable, he hasn't seen it for about a month. When I showed him the cases he would not let go of them, luckily the lady didn't need them for checkout or he would have had a meltdown! When we got home I stuck it in the DVD player and the smile that brightened his face was priceless.

For Rusty it's catching a fish.

Unfortunately for Rusty he didn't catch a fish this weekend. We hopped in the truck Saturday night to fish for the evening. Things quickly went downhill from there. We missed our turn off, then decided to try a new pond instead, couldn't find that pond so we headed for the original hole, and when we finally got there it was so infested with a new insect hatch that me and Bridger were miserable and the Rusty couldn't get the fish to bite!! So instead of true happiness for Rusty he had to settle for a boat cooler from the garage sales.
